MPSGOLF.COM Boy's Junior League

In an effort to increase the competition and develop a "Feeder
" system for the High Schools, we are pleased to announce the creation of the

MPSGOLF.COM Boy's Junior League
The MPSGOLF.COM Boy's Junior Golf League is a competitive league open to all Juniors between the ages of 7 and 17. Two divisions will be formed, (The Premier League (12-17 years old) and the Champions League (7-11 years old play 5 hole matches)
Younger players are eligible to play up to the next level based on ability.
The league is a team format, matches are played and points awarded for match play (hole by hole) and medal play (score)
Teams are formed by a blind draw with players flighted by their ability,
Premier League Players should have a nine hole score turned in by May 31st in order to calculate handicaps.
There are meetings scheduled for Wednesday, April 19th and May 24th, at 6:30 P.M. at
Golf Club of Illinois for parents and juniors interested in participating.
 League play is on Mondays, June 5, 12, 19, 26 July 10, 17, 24, 2017,
with a Club Championship scheduled for Monday, July 31st
T-Times begin at 7:30 A.M.

Format
The number of teams and flights will be determined by the number of players who are registered.
(Registration closes Sunday, May 28th 2017)

If 36 players are registered, we will have 6 teams of 6 players, ideally we will have 60 players which would
create 10 teams of 6 players. We would have 6 flights, level 1 being the more advanced players,
level 6 would be for players not as advanced. Using a blind
draw on May 31st, teams would be formed using a player from each
level, so there would be balanced matches.

Matches will have players from each level competing heads up,
2 points are awarded for medal play (lower net score)
and 2 points for match play (hole by hole). In the event of a tie, 1 point is
awarded to each player. The team with the lower total net score would win an additional
2 points. If the teams have 5 players, the lowest 4 net scores would be used,
if there are 7 players per team, the lowest 5 scores will be used to determine
the winning team. So if there are 5 players per team, the maximum number of
points that can be won each week would be 22. The two teams with the highest
point total after the last matches on July 24th will be awarded prizes.

Weather
In the event of inclement weather, play will be delayed
until 8:00 at which point matches that day will be cancelled. It will be the
player’s responsibility to schedule a time that week to play their match with
their opponent. Matches should be completed by Friday of that week.
In the event the match cannot be played, both players will split the points (2 points apiece)
and their net score for the team points will be par.

 Facebook Page
We will have a Facebook page setup, which will allow players to see weekly results as well as
overall standings. This will also allow players to communicate among
themselves and set up their T-Times for the following week’s match.

The Facebook page is
MPSGOLF.COM Junior League
